There are two main parts: general twitter and crypto twitter (CT). CT is just the name of all the people that trade crypto or connected to it in any other way. Generally you use it to know who bought the specific coin. General twitter is just some news and big personalities like Elon Musk. Every time there are big news the coin usually pumps a lot (like when $PNUT went to several millions) or every time Elon Musk tweets some funny thing the coin can go to 1 mil in seconds.
When you first start trading memecoins it can be overwhelming. There are hundreds of relevant accounts in CT that you should follow and there are literally zero guides telling you who to follow. I’m in this space for several months and still find new people everyday. I will explain how you can find good accounts to follow and how to differentiate good account from bad one.
First important thing to understand is that the following count doesn’t matter. There are dozens of accounts with 100k+ followers that are completely irrelevant and there are also accounts sub 10k that are must follow.

There are too general things I look at when I try to find out if I should follow an account or not. First one is just check the last coins that this account posted about. If the account doesn’t post about coins at all, it is almost insta pass. If someone posts about coins often, I always follow them. Even if this account isn’t relevant now or his last coins didn’t perform well still follow him, because you never know how good he is going to be in the future. I know several people that I follow from the moment they had less than 1k followers and zero pull. And now they are above 20k followers and can push coins solo above 400k if they want to. The second thing and the most important one is just how real this account feels. If it looks like a larp, it is probably is a larp. If it looks real, it is probably real and you should always follow real ones in this space, because it is so difficult to find them.
I will provide you examples of different types of CT accounts and explain why you should or shouldn’t follow them. The order will be from the worst to the best in terms how much money you can make from them. This is my 9 circles of twitter.
It is pretty obvious for people who were in this space long enough, but I still need to mention. There are a lot of scammers that just want to get your sol any way possible. Simple examples are people posting fake screenshots telling you they made 100x in their private that “only costs” 1 sol to enter. Or people trying to pass as some big KOLs, dming people about their new private. There are many more examples. These scams are really very stupid, so just don’t fall for them.
These accounts are absolutely useless, but harmless. They only post something like “Gm”, “What are we buying today?” and fake giveaways. They also have insane amount of followers, but they look extremely fake. Just avoid them.

This group is very similar to the first one. Most of the time they do the same thing, farming engagement. But sometimes they launch a coin or do paid shills. And if you know how to play these types of launches correctly you can actually make a lot of money from these “farms” (I call them like these, because they usually buy like 30% of supply, pay for 500 boosts and then the coin dies in anywhere between 10 minutes to several hours)
